Concan, TX

A couple of weekends ago I had a bachelorette party in Concan. I loved getting out of the city for a few days. There is something so peaceful about not having cell phone service and being totally disconnected. We spent the nights at country dance halls and saw the Josh Abbott Band. Saturday was spent floating the river were I managed to get 1% tanner. One thing I am learning in life is that you can't get what you want unless you ask. One of the girls and I had our eyes on a Josh Abbott shirt and kept going up to the booth and turning around. I finally went up and asked (kind of joking/kind of not) if they would give a discount to us because we were there for a bachelorette party. Next thing I know we got the shirts for only $15 compared to their normal $40. Yes, this is a one time thing, but I felt so proud that I even had the guts to ask/joke about it! Life lesson learned.

A Look Back On the Weekend

Over these last four years of knowing Michael my love for basketball has blossumed. I used to not care at all about the game at all, but now I find myself watching long after Mike has left the room. What I am getting at here is my insane passion and love for the San Antonio Spurs. When they lost, I lost. When they were not given any credit by sports announcers my heart broke. I am in love with a basketball team. I even have crazy superstitions I have to do every time they play and some times I have to take a step back and question who I have become.

Sunday night, our beloved Spurs won their fifth championship. I don't know what else to really say besides how proud I am. I am in love with the best basketball team.

I just needed to get that out really quick:)

Now about our weekend:

We spent it in the beautiful Tyler, TX for our friends wedding! They have the best hearts and the bride was absolutely stunning. You really see how amazing people are by the friends they have (and I'm not saying that because we are friends with them haha). We got to meet and spend a lot of time with their friends from college and it felt like we knew them for forever. It was an absolute blast and I can't wait to see them when they get back from their honeymoon!

Catch Up!

It's time for a photo dump! Yay! I have been meaning to post as we go, but that hasn't been happening as planned.

A couple a weekends ago my mom came to town with my family. We got to spend a little time with them before my sweet friend had her bachelorette party in Dallas! It was an absolute blast and got us all pumped for their wedding weekend (this weekend)!!

I restarted (didn't get too far in this post) The Fault In Our Starts and finished it in 2 days. I could not put it down! I challenged my sister to finish it in a day so we could see the movie. The challenge was accepted and conquered. Half of me wishes I would have taken a before and after picture and the other half is glad that I didn't. I have not cried that hard in a movie ever. Total snot nosed.

Tonight we had Chris and Natalie's wedding rehearsal and dinner. I love these two people so much. Tomorrow is the BIG day! More photos to come on Monday's Weekend post!

August 24th, 2013

Heads up- this is my favorite post so far.

I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that Mike and I have been married for almost a year. There are days where it feels like yesterday and others that feel like we have been together our whole lives. We spent eight months anticipating this one day and then the day came and went. I wanted to make sure we captured each and every moment.

We received our highlight video a couple of weeks ago and every time I watch it I cry. Seeing all of the love that surrounded us brings so much joy to my heart.

Watching our video made me go back and look at all of our photos. I would love to relive our wedding day. One thing I wish I would have done was keep a journal- or to have started this blog around that time. What was I thinking? I wish I could go back and read all of my emotions leading up to August 24th.
